Jasper

Jasper (joint attention symbolic play engagement and regulation) is a ucla-developed, play-based intervention. it emphasizes regulating children’s emotions and establishing engagement through children’s interests. Jasper targets play skills, as well as language and social communication.

I believe in providing therapy that blends research-backed interventions, personalized to fit each child’s needs and interests:

the Approach:

orofacial myofunctional therapy

I am currently a certification candidate in orofacial myofunctional therapy, which consists of systematic exercises designed to improve the function and coordination of facial and oral muscles. it benefits children who are exhibiting tongue ties, tongue thrust, breathing issues, oral motor dysfunction, and more.

prompt

Prompt (prompts for restructuring oral muscular phonetic targets) is a hands-on speech therapy intervention. through prompt, a therapist identifies the source of verbal speech difficulties, and supports and guides the mouth and other articulators using touch on the face.

language support

I provide general language support through research-backed strategies. these strategies are communicated to caregivers so that they can be utilized at home. I acknowledge all modes of communication here, whether it be through aac, gestures, verbal speech output, or other means.

Meet the owner

Hello! I'm Nicole Kramer, M.S., CCC-SLP. I am a pediatric speech therapist specializing in supporting children with autism and related communication challenges through evidence-based therapy, meaningful connection, and strategies personalized to each child and Family.

I spent 6 years training at UCLA’s Kasari Lab for autism research, working directly with experts in the field. prior to opening saltwater speech, I spent 3 years working in a private practice setting. in addition to my experience working one-on-one with clients, I have extensive experience coaching parents and caregivers, as well as supporting children within a classroom setting.

My goal is to help communication feel more natural, more fulfilling, and more expressive for each child.
